Today the part-time faculty at Columbia College began a 2-day strike! And Arise was right alongside them to announce their action.
Members of the independent union, P-Fac recently voted 89% in favor of striking in response to the college administration’s continued labor violations and bad faith bargaining.
Hundreds of Columbia faculty, students, alumni, and allies including a cross section of local labor unions marched, cheered, and danced to the DJ on Michigan Avenue.
P-fac President Diana Vallera (right) began the press conference, “We’re so proud of the solidarity among faculty and students to organize for better working and learning conditions at Columbia.”
